Is Markdeck an online editor?
Markdeck is a Mac desktop app. The interactive demo on this site shows how writing, outlining, and presentation feel; edits in the demo only apply to this page. Real documents open and save inside the desktop app.
Do I need an account to write?
No. The desktop app opens local Markdown files directly. Writing, outlining, and presenting all work offline. Images hosted online still need a connection.
Will outlining or presenting change my original document?
No. Sticky notes, card positions, connections, and presentation order are stored separately. You can reorganize your thinking or present only a few sections while the Markdown body stays in its original order.
How do I share documents together with their images?
Export a standalone HTML or PDF, or bundle the Markdown and local images together as a ZIP. If you share a .md file directly, include the folder it references for images.
Which systems are supported today?
The current desktop build targets Apple Silicon Macs. Builds for Windows, Linux, and Intel Macs are not yet available.
Can I keep using my existing Markdown files?
Yes. Open UTF-8 encoded .md, .markdown, or .txt files directly, up to 10 MB each. Images should live inside the document folder; if something is missing, you can reselect it.
